A company providing a unique and contemporary engineering service for the oil and gas, energy, food processing and manufacturing industries is embracing the digital era, transforming the way piping and fabrication services are delivered.
Making the most of digital software and hardware accompanied with experience, Pipesco Ltd provides industry leading quality and turnaround times in engineering, design and fabrication.
Duncan Wheeler, managing director of Pipesco, explains: “The challenge is this: with current skills shortages and a rapidly changing world, the only way to provide our customers with value is to be innovative. We have simplified the process by embracing digital workflows.”
These technologies have previously been very expensive and only used on large projects but as with everything technological development, they get smaller, less expensive and ultimately better.
“That means we can deliver innovation as standard at no extra cost. Reduced HSE risks, Assurances are greatly increased, such as almost eliminating failure to fits, and efficiency benefits passed on to the customers.”
He and colleague Allan Pashley, the company’s Technical Director, have combined best practices and know-how gathered over a combined 65 years working in the industry – both as customers and contractors – and then removed out-dated and old-fashioned working practices, revolutionising the way maintenance and modifications are delivered.
“We understand the challenges of maintaining an ageing infrastructure, so often the case in the refining and processing industries. But it doesn’t preclude using modern technologies and talent to succeed, on brownfield projects, modifications and repairs.
“We work quickly and efficiently, using cutting-edge techniques to streamline processes while always remaining committed to safety and sustainability.”
Safety and quality are hugely important in the company’s operations. Pipesco meets challenges that range from design and surveying, to fabrication.
“We’re totally focused on innovation. We’re constantly looking for new ways to improve efficiency and make the most of the opportunities offered by new technologies and this approach has seen benefits from the transition between design and fabrication even further simplifying the process.” says Duncan.
Allan Pashley comments: “Getting the right data is critical and we can help customers get the most from the data from the start. This includes post-survey data processing, analysis and 3D modelling.
“And with incredibly precise laser scanning, we can deliver complete accuracy whenever and wherever its most needed, both onshore and offshore,” adds Allan.
